The Course

This 1-day course covers the application of the Machinery Directive and the UK Supply of Machinery Safety Regulations to lifting equipment. It also introduces manufacturers to their user’s responsibilities under Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER).

Why should you attend?

Manufacturers of lifting equipment have an obligation to ensure that their products are safe to use and compliant with all relevant product legislation. All employers have an obligation to ensure all lifting equipment supplied to their employees is safe to use and is being used safely. This training offers an overview of the regulations that apply to manufacturers of lifting equipment and how compliance can be achieved. It also covers the obligations of users and what is required for successful and safe putting into service.

Who is it for?

Importers of machinery, machinery designers, purchasers, mechanical engineers, project managers, safety and process engineers.

How is it delivered?

The course consists of 1 day of presentations, worked examples and interactive participation with question-and-answer-sessions. The day will run from 09.00 to 16.30, with breaks for refreshments and lunch. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
