Market Surveillance Regulation

The Market Surveillance Regulation 2019/1020 came into force in the EU on 16 July 2021. It introduced new duties for economic operators to cooperate with EU market surveillance authorities. Manufacturers based outside the EU may need to appoint an Authorised Representative in the EU who, while having no duties under the Machinery Directive, takes on these new duties under the Market Surveillance Regulation.
